Father's Day Always Plays Second Fiddle To Mother's Day. Is It Because Moms Are Better At Nurturing?
66Father's Day or Mother's Day-Which is More Important?
That question can only be answered by you. We would all like to believe that mothers are more nurturing, and loving. Sadly, that is not always the case judging by some headlines in recent papers across the U.S. Only you can answer which holiday means more, because only you know which parent played the most important role in your life.
It is only my opinion that more importance is put upon the Mother's Day holiday, because moms actually carried their children for nine months, and endured agonizing labor. Sometimes more than once. A man can watch a million videos on child birth, read a million books, and even assist in the delivery of his own children, but he will never understand all the mental, physical, and psychological aspects of carrying and delivering a child. This doesn't mean that fathers are unimportant, or insignificant. I believe they are very important, and should be celebrated. It's just my opinion that if you wrote down everything a mom does for her husband and kids, and wrote down everything a father does for his wife and kids, by the end of the week, I am willing to bet, the mother's list is longer. This won't be true in all households of course.
Another reason I believe much emphasize is put upon Mother's Day is that mothers are usually a little more sensitive, and sentimental. Our feelings get hurt a little easier, and being shown appreciation for our efforts means soo much. In the past, my daughter would often say sorry I couldn't buy you anything. The fact that she wanted to buy me something, and felt bad that she couldn't ,meant a lot to me. As always, I just speak from life and experience, and I always welcome comments and opinions. These will only make me a better hubber.

City mom, I appreciate your even handedness in dealing with this request. I agree that Mother's Day does seem to be given more emphasis than dads day .... I don't know exactly why, but I'll tell you .... It's OK by me.
BTW, your daughter has an excellent photographic eye ... probably got it from her mom :)
