How can such a small baby take up so much space?

Yes, babies take up a lot of space. As a single mom of a teenager, I have had to cope with fitting lots into a small space. Here are a few suggestions.

* Determine what items need to be in reach constantly, and keep them close. Soaps, diapers, diaper rash cream, wipes, etc., can all be tucked into an over-the-door shoe rack (with the plastic see thru pockets). Keep ointments and creams in higher pocktes where toddlers can't reach.

* If you have two doors in a babies room (closet and bedroom door) you can hang these shoe racks on both sides. You can use one for bibs, socks, pajamas, etc (these pockets are a real good size), you can use another for toys.

* Blankets ,crib sheets, coats, and towels can take up much space. Look for flat plastic bins that slide underneath beds. These usually come with lids, so you don't have to worry about dust or bugs.

* Utilize the space you have. If you have plenty of wall space, buy a sturdy wall shelf and bolt it to the wall. There are plenty of free standing shelves that are great, but you do not want anything that can tip onto a child. You also must be aware that at a certain age your child may start to try climbing these shelves like a ladder.

* Use the underneath of the crib as storage space also. Since there is usually a higher clearance, you may be able to fit a higher plastic container for blankets, and maybe the potty chair.

* You can use the space behind cribs and dressers also. If you pull the crib or dresser away from the wall a few inches, you can slide a baby gate or folding high chair in there.

Well, I really hope I have helped some. Good luck !
